Roughly half of the population over the age of 65 are fully vaccinated, and 16.9% of the whole country are fully vaccinated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/mPQGDl1PdRvoEvQSsbrfvHVo2s0-a-oHuJNCSXnZOXTATD4tUXttEZRwpLm7qf8JlkTMRSNAiK5FAZPqj1Cu_dEUJDVl0zpPC6_wP7KRPWY6VCgOcOhsPA8qH5kWIUg_VvQgL00D\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can view the current vaccination progress on the <a href=\"https:\/\/covid.cdc.gov\/covid-data-tracker\/#vaccinations\">CDC\u2019s COVID Data Tracker website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Efforts to increase vaccination include increasing production, creating more vaccine locations, and making it easy for adults to find an available vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As more people receive the vaccine, states continue to loosen restrictions on business operations. In most states, retail, dining, personal care, and outdoor recreation businesses can open. There are still some limitations on indoor dining and in-store capacity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can reference the New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2020\/us\/states-reopen-map-coronavirus.html\">Coronavirus Restrictions and Mask Mandates for All 50 States<\/a> for the most up-to-date information for your state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Majority of SMBs Are Preparing for Reopening<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To understand how vaccine rollout and loosening restrictions affect local enterprises, Bluehost surveyed 1,000 small business owners with less than 100 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study showed that 37% of small businesses are ready to reopen, meaning they have a final\u00a0or near-final plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Florida has the most businesses ready to go with a finalized COVID-19 reopening plan \u2014 34% of its small business are prepared to reopen. Georgia and New York follow with 29% and 28% of companies ready to reopen, respectively.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While not all businesses have prepared a final reopening plan, 71% of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluehost.com\/blog\/small-business-experts-tell-us-how-to-make-a-successful-business-plan-for-2021\/\">SMBs have an optimistic future outlook<\/a>. Of the business owners surveyed, 43% report feeling hopeful and 39% report feeling motivated about the future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surprisingly, SMBs located in states hardest hit by the pandemic report the highest levels of optimism. In Georgia, 88% of business owners feel optimistic, followed by 80% in North Carolina and 79% in New York.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although businesses appear ready to reopen their doors to customers, it may be some time before most companies are prepared to hire. Only 28% of businesses have plans in place to hire new employees in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This optimism comes from a combination of internal and external factors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly half of the respondents believe the vaccination rollout will generate a positive effect on their business. Additionally, 45% of small business owners attribute their optimism to confidence in themselves and their employees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You Should Do To Prepare for Reopening&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter where you\u2019re located, there are things you can do to get your small business ready to serve customers in person again.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the top five recommended actions to take to prepare your business to reopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Stay Focused on Hygiene and Safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although vaccinations can help us stop the spread of infection, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/community\/guidance-business-response.html\">CDC<\/a> still recommends precautions such as mask-wearing and social distancing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prioritizing a clean and safe business environment helps you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluehost.com\/blog\/how-to-improve-employee-well-being-for-happy-employees-and-better-business\/\">boost employee morale<\/a> and retain your customers\u2019 trust.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your reopening plan should include guidelines for mask-wearing and social distancing, as well as a sanitization routine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you reopen, let your customers know about your sanitization practices and your process for keeping them safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Reconsider Work-Life Balance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After the pandemic hit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/social-trends\/2020\/12\/09\/how-the-coronavirus-outbreak-has-and-hasnt-changed-the-way-americans-work\/\">71% of people<\/a> in the United States began working from home (compared to only 20% pre-pandemic). Many workers have grown accustomed to their new routines, and 54% would prefer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluehost.com\/blog\/how-will-the-covid-19-pandemic-change-the-way-we-work-predictions-for-2021-and-beyond\/\">work from home<\/a> after the outbreak ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Returning to normal business capacity after the pandemic doesn\u2019t mean everything has to go back to exactly the way it was before.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you run a business where people can continue to work from home, talk to your team and learn what works best for them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.achurchconsulting.com\/blog\/6-remote-work-models-to-consider-for-your-organizations-future\/\">hybrid remote work model<\/a> might suit your business better. Communicate Your Plan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter what your reopening plan is, you should communicate it clearly to employees and customers.
