How to Configure Servers in WHMCS

Configuring servers in WHMCS is an important part of connecting your Bluehost hosting environment to your billing and automation system. Follow the steps below for both WHMCS Version 5 and earlier versions.

Configure Server in WHMCS (Version 5)

1. Log in to WHMCS.
2. Open the Setup menu, then select Products/Services, and choose Servers.
3. Under the Options section, click Create New Group.
4. Enter a Group Name.
5. Choose how new orders should be assigned:
   • Add to the least full server, or
   • Fill the default server until it reaches its account limit.
     If your group contains only one server, select Add to the least full server.
6. In the left box, select the servers you want to add to the group.
7. Click Add to move them to the right box.
8. Click Save Changes.

Configure Servers in WHMCS (Previous Versions)

1. Go to Setup and choose Servers.
2. Click Add New Server.
3. Fill in the following details:
   • Server Name
   • Hostname
   • IP Address
4. Specify the Max. No. of Accounts for load balancing.
   • If you only have one server, you may enter a high number.
5. Enter the Nameservers and their corresponding IPs.
6. Enter your server login credentials:
   • Root or reseller username
   • Password or Access Hash
7. For improved security, it is recommended to use the cPanel Access Hash:
   • Log in to WHM in a new tab.
   • Go to Cluster/Remote Access, then select Remote Access Key.
   • Copy the Current Access Key.
   • Return to WHMCS and paste it into the Access Hash field.
8. Click Save Changes.
9. Set this server as the default for new accounts by clicking the server name and ensuring the asterisk (*) appears next to it.
