ecomdash - Adding and Managing Products and Inventory
Note: There are currently two versions of ecomdash available. Follow the instructions that apply to the version you see when accessing your ecomdash account. If you are not sure which version you use, please see ecomdash - How to Determine ecomdash Version to learn more.
In order to use ecomdash, you will need to import your products. There are two ways you can do this; you can Download Listings or Upload an Inventory File. This article will walk you through importing products and managing your inventory.
Please note: A product is the item you are selling from your own or a supplier's inventory. A listing is the location on your storefront where your customers view and purchase the product.
Add Products
Download Listings
When you perform a listing download, ecomdash will import all active products from the specified sales channel using the SKU Number to organize everything. Once you have connected to your sales platform(s):
- Click the 'Actions' (lightning bolt) icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Choose Download Listings from the drop-down that appears.
- Select your storefront, then click Download.
You can select listing downloads for multiple storefronts at once; however, only one will be processed at a time. If you don’t see a checkbox for a storefront, this means you already requested a listing download for that option.
Import an Inventory File
If you have a CSV file, you can use this to import your product information. Before you can import (or export) CSV files, you will need to Build an Import/Export Inventory Format for the file(s) you are uploading. Once created:
- Click the 'Actions' (lightning bolt) icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Choose Upload Inventory from the drop-down that appears.
- Browse to select the inventory file.
- Select the inventory format that you have created for this file.
- Designate how ecomdash should handle products using an existing SKU:
- Perform No Action: Most commonly used when adding new products to your ecomdash inventory.
- Overwrite Existing Product Details with File: Used when adding updated or new information to existing products in ecomdash.
Please note: If you are uploading an inventory file to bulk update products, you will need to select this option.
- Increase Existing Product Quantity with File: Used when adding quantity to existing products.
- Add any tags you would like applied.
- Click Upload to begin the import.

- Click the Products menu, then choose All Products from the drop-down.
- Check the box next to each product you would like to include in the export.
- Click the Bulk Actions menu, then choose Export Selected Inventory from the drop-down.
- Choose the Export Format you wish to export with, then click the Export button.
Please note:
- Updating product information in your ecomdash inventory will not affect your listing information for those products.
- If you update the SKU # field, you’ll also need to update the SKU number directly on your sales channel so ecomdash can continue to recognize and update that product quantity.
