Email Account Management

Summary

This article will show you how to Add, Delete, and Manage your Bluehost email accounts.



Accessing the Email Accounts Tool

Accessing your email account will vary depending on which type of account you have.

cPanel Email

Once you have logged into your Bluehost control panel:

Bluerock

  1. Click the Advanced tab from the side navigation menu to the left.

  2. Click the Email Accounts icon, located in the Email section.

Legacy

  1. From the top menu under the hosting option, click on Email.

Email & Office

  1. Log in to your Bluehost control panel.
  2. From the side-menu on the left-hand side of the screen, click on the Email & Office tab.
  3. Purchase an email plan, or click the Manage button next to the plan you wish to make changes to.

Creating a new email account

To create a Google Workspace or Office 365 email account, click here, or:

  1. Open the Email & Office tab from the side navigation menu to the left.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain you wish to add an address for.

  3. Click the Create button.
To create a standard cPanel email account:

  2. Click the Email Accounts icon, located in the Email section.

  3. Click the Create button.

Legacy

  1. From the top menu under the hosting option, click on Email.

  2. Under the Email Accounts section, click on the create an email account button.

Once you have the create email screen open:

  1. In the Email text box, type the User you would like to create an email address for.
  2. In the Password text box, type the Password you would like this User to have.
  3. The Password Strength Meter will tell if the password you have entered is strong enough. We highly recommend you use a strong password.
  4. In the Password (Again) text box, type the Same Password you used above to confirm that they are the same. If the passwords do not match, please carefully retype the password into both boxes again.
  5. In the Password (Again) text box, type the Same Password you used above to confirm that they are the same. If the passwords do not match, please carefully retype the password into both boxes again.
  6. The Mailbox quota (optional) text box is used to specify the amount of your overall hosting storage allocated for that specific email account. The default that should be listed is 250 MB. You can increase or decrease this number as you desire.
  7. Once the User, Password, and Quota are all accurate, simply click the Create Account button.

Viewing your current email accounts

Once created, click back into the Email Accounts section to view your active email addresses. You can search for email accounts by email address, username, or domain name. To know more about different webmail client options, please refer to this article, How To Access Webmail - What Is Webmail?
 

Deleting email accounts

To delete an email account once you have accessed the Email Accounts section:

Bluerock

  1. Click Manage next to the email account you wish to remove an address from.

  2. Locate the address you wish to remove and click the Manage button.

  3. Scroll down to DELETE EMAIL ACCOUNT and click it.

  4. Click the Delete button to confirm the deletion.

Legacy

  1. Under the Current Email Accounts, look for the email account you wish to remove an address from.
  2. Click the view details button on the right side.

  3. Click the delete button at the bottom part of the view details section.

  4. Click are you sure? button to confirm that you would like to delete this email account.

Note: This will delete all of the emails associated with this email account permanently.

Changing the quota of an email account

Bluerock

  1. Click the Manage button.

  2. Scroll down to locate Storage, and enter a new quota for the email account. Note: You may also choose Unlimited Storage by clicking the radio button.

  3. Click the UPDATE EMAIL SETTINGS button to save changes.
    Note: To stay on the current page after clicking update Email Setting, click the check box.

Legacy

  1. Under the Current Email Accounts, look for the email account you wish to remove an address from.
  2. Click the view details button on the right side.

  3. Scroll down to click on Change Mailbox Quota, and enter a new quota for the email account.
  4. Click the change button to confirm the new quota.

Changing the password of an email account

Bluerock

  1. Click the Manage button.

  2. Scroll down to locate the Security section, and enter your preferred new password.
    Note: You may also click Generate button to have a strong suggested password from our system.

  3. Click the Update Email Settings button to save changes.

Legacy

  1. Under the Current Email Accounts, look for the email account you wish to remove an address from.
  2. Click the view details button on the right side.

  3. Enter the new Password for the email account. Re-enter to confirm.
    Note: You may also use generate password button to have a strong suggested password from our system.

  4. Click the change password button to change the password for the email account.
