Maestro: Collections

You can easily create collections of your most commonly used plugins and apply them to your sites, saving your time setting up your new WordPress site. You can do this from your Maestro dashboard.

Read on to understand how this works.



Getting Started

For websites belonging to your clients

To create and apply a collection for your client’s WordPress site from the Maestro dashboard, you will first need to get access to that site.

Note: This feature is available only for sites that are hosted on Bluehost.

For websites purchased inside Maestro

Once you purchase a site from inside your Maestro dashboard and after the installation is complete, you will be able to apply a collection.

Creating a Collection

Navigate to the Collections tab in your left navigation bar. You can start creating a new Collection by clicking Create Plugins Collection.

  1. Give your Collection a name.

  2. Search for plugins that you want to add to your Collection.

    Note: You can only add plugins listed on WordPress.org

  3. You can add multiple plugins to the Collection. If you wish to remove any plugin, simply hover over Added and click Remove.

  4. Click on Create Collection to finish creating your preset.

Once a Collection is created, you can view it in the Presets tab in the side navigation menu to the left.

You can also edit or delete your Collection by clicking on the more (⋮) option.

Note: Deleting a Collection will only delete it from your Collections tab. It will not uninstall the plugins in the Collection from any site.

Creating a Collection from an existing site

Note: A Collection can be created only for sites that you have access to or purchased from Maestro. Get access to your sites.

To begin, navigate to the Plugins tab of the site you wish to create a Collection from.

  1. Click on Save as Collection on top of the plugins list.

  2. Give your Collection a name.

  3. All plugins from the site will be added to the Collection. You can choose to skip plugins you do not want to save in the Collection. You can also search and add more plugins.
  4. Click on Create Collection to finish creating your Collection. Your Collection will be saved in the Collections tab in the side navigation menu to the left.

  1. Navigate to the Collections tab in the side navigation menu to the left. Select the Collection you wish to apply to a WordPress site, then click Install Plugins on a Site
  2. Select the site you would like to apply the Collection to.

    Note: You will only be able to apply a Collection to sites you have access to.

  3. Review the plugins you wish to add to the site. You can choose to skip plugins from the Collection that you do not want to be added to the site. You can also choose to activate the plugins when they are installed on the site.

  4. Click on Install Plugins to install and/or activate the plugins on the site.

    Note: The highest compatible version of the plugins will be installed on the website.

You will be able to see the updated list of plugins in the Plugins tab after the installation is complete. You can refresh your screen to view the updated list of plugins post-installation.

  1. Navigate to the Plugins tab for the site you wish to apply the preset to.

    Note: You will only be able to apply a Collection to sites you have access to.

  2. Click on Install from Collection on top of the plugins list.
  3. Select from the list of saved presets

  4. Review the plugins that you wish to add to the site. You can choose to skip plugins from the preset that you do not want to be added to the site. You can also choose between installation and activating or just installing plugins.

  5. Click on Install Plugins to install and/or activate plugins to the site.

The highest compatible version of the plugins will be installed on the site.
