A: If you're utilizing Hosting email services included in your hosting package, get ready for an updated experience featuring a sleek design and enhanced functionality. Here's what you can look forward to:

For Professional Mail or Professional Mail Plus users, expect an upgraded interface packed with exciting additions:

A: As part of the upgrade:

  • CRAM-MD5 authentication will be deprecated.
  • Support for TLS v1.0 and v1.1 will be removed.
  • DNS settings will be updated during migration to meet enhanced security standards.

Q: What Should I Do to Prepare for the Email Upgrade?

A: To ensure a smooth transition:

  • Check your Spam and Trash folders — they won't be migrated.
  • If your DNS is managed outside Bluehost, coordinate with your provider to update DNS settings as per our Cloud Mail DNS guide.
  • Update your email client settings:
    • Enable TLS 1.2
    • Use Password/Plain for SMTP authentication
    • Update incoming/outgoing mail servers

Important: You might experience brief slowness or temporary connectivity issues during migration.

Q: Will My Login Credentials Change?

A: Your credentials remain the same, but you must log in using your full email address, not just your username.

Q: Will the Webmail Interface Look Different?

A: Minimal service interruption is expected. Access to Webmail may be briefly limited during your account migration. Still, we’re working to make this as seamless as possible.

A: Absolutely — most third-party apps are compatible with TLS 1.2. If your current email client doesn’t support TLS 1.2, update it or use Webmail.

Q: Do Apple Devices Need Special Configuration?

A: Yes. In your Apple Mail settings, make sure to enable SMTP authentication. Unsecured configurations will no longer work after the upgrade.
