What is CodeGuard?

CodeGuard is an addon service that can be used for:

  • Backups - CodeGuard initiates by creating a first-time backup of your site, then consistently updates these backups with any changes that happen.
  • Monitoring - CodeGuard monitors your site daily for changes and sends a change alert email to notify you if there are any. CodeGuard also updates you on the progress of your backups.
  • Restoration -  You have the option to revert to any previous version of your website with the click of a button.

What Are the Benefits of Using CodeGuard?

With CodeGuard's cloud backup service, your website is protected from malicious attacks, data breaches, and coding errors, ensuring your data is secure and easily restorable. In the following section, we will explore the CodeGuard Plans.

  • Safeguard Against Data Loss - It's common to encounter data loss due to human mistakes, but implementing a reliable backup strategy is crucial. CodeGuard, offered by Bluehost, performs daily backups of your website, storing all information securely in the cloud. This allows for the restoration of your entire site or specific files effortlessly with just a click.
  • Protection From Malware and Unauthorized Access - Unauthorized access by hackers can lead to the theft of valuable data or damage to your website. Moreover, malware and virus infections can jeopardize crucial business data. Using CodeGuard in conjunction with SiteLock security can help you swiftly recover control of your site by restoring from a backup.
  • Resolve Compatibility Issues With Updates or Add-ons - Regular updates and the installation of add-ons, like plugins and themes, are essential for your website's smooth operation. However, these updates and plugins might not always be compatible with your site, potentially disrupting its functionality and leading to data loss. Creating a backup with CodeGuard before any update or add-on activation is a prudent measure.
