How to Connect a Domain Name from the Hosting Tab

- Log in to your Bluehost Bluehost Account Manager
- Click the Hosting Tab on the left Navigation Menu.
In the Hosting tab, you have two potential options to add a domain:
- Single Hosting Plan
- Multiple Hosting Plans
Connect a Domain Name to Hosting
On the Hosting details page view you may have two options.
- If there is a website already, you would follow the steps below:
- Click the Settings button.
- Click the Manage hyperlink under the Site Information section.
- Click the Add Domain button.
- Type the domain name in the field you want to add and connect to the account.
Click the Continue button.
- The domain name will start the process of being added to your account. This process can take up to 10 minutes.
- Check nameservers.
Note: Make sure the nameservers are pointed to us if you have your domain name registered with a different company.
Connect a Domain Name with No Website
If there is no website, click the Add Sites button and follow the prompts, then you can choose the domain to link by following the steps below:
- Click the Settings button.
- Click the Connect domain hyperlink located under Site Information.
Note: Remember that you must have the domain registered with us or with a different provider. If you'd like to know more, check out How to Register a Domain Name for more information. - Type the domain name in the field you want to add and connect to the account.
Next, click the Continue button.

Additional Tips

- Do Not Cancel Your Current Registrar: Keep the domain active, especially if you transfer or modify the domain name until the transfer is fully complete. Domain nameservers (DNS) can only update once registrars complete a domain transfer.
- Check DNS Settings: If your domain is linked to specific DNS records (e.g., pointing to a website or email), ensure you update these settings in your Bluehost DNS Section. For more information on how to update DNS, read our DNS Management guide.
