How to Set Up Bluehost OX Mail with POP and IMAP Settings

After creating an email account, you can configure it with an email application on your desktop or mobile device. This guide will walk you through how to set up OX email using either POP or IMAP protocols, with secure SSL/TLS settings.

Understanding POP, IMAP & SMTP

IMAP (Recommended for Multiple Devices)
  • Synchronizes email across all devices.
  • Server-side actions like delete, move, or mark as read reflect everywhere.
  • Best for users accessing email via phone, tablet, and computer.
POP  (Use for Single Device Access)
  • Downloads and removes email from the server.
  • Suitable if you prefer managing emails offline or need to save server space.
SMTP (For Sending Emails)
  • Used for sending emails.
  • Most clients auto-detect SMTP via Autodiscover.
