Where to Upload Files for an Addon Domain

When you're running numerous domains out of one hosting account, it's important to know where you upload files for an addon domain. Bluehost makes this easier by automatically assigning each addon domain to a subdirectory underneath your public_html folder. Here's how to find and upload your files to the correct directory so all of your addon domains can function properly.

Uploading Your Site

After you have assigned an Addon Domain via the Bluehost domain manager, a sub-folder will be created in your public_html folder (e.g. "/public_html/addon_domain_foldername"). You will need to upload the files for this Addon Domain to the subfolder created.

Note: If you are unsure which directory an addon domain is associated with, click on the Domain Name option in your cPanel. Next, select the domain name from the list. Then, look to the right, and under the "main" tab, you should see "Addon Directory: public_html/addon_domain_foldername".

Summary

To upload files to an addon domain, you need to find the subdirectory assigned to your public_html folder. The steps above will, therefore, help ensure correct setup and access for your addon domains.
