Choosing between Bluehost and Liquid Web at the VPS level goes beyond introductory pricing. The real differences appear in how resources are allocated and how performance behaves under load. Support structure and long-term cost evolution also shape the decision.
The sections below break core VPS factors to show where Bluehost and Liquid Web stand and how those differences translate into real operational impact..
Bluehost builds its VPS offering around NVMe-backed infrastructure and higher base resource allocation. Faster NVMe storage reduces latency during database queries, content retrieval and high read or write operations. This becomes especially important for dynamic websites, eCommerce stores and application-driven environments where consistent responsiveness matters.
Liquid Web approaches performance from a managed infrastructure perspective. It offers a 100 percent network SLA backed by a structured cloud environment. This setup is designed to maintain uptime stability through oversight and proactive optimization rather than relying on higher entry-level resource allocation.
Verdict: Bluehost prioritizes performance through higher base allocation, while Liquid Web focuses on stability through managed infrastructure guarantees.
Bluehost pairs its pricing with 2GB RAM, 50GB NVMe storage and unmetered bandwidth. This higher starting capacity allows growing projects to operate without immediately encountering resource ceilings. For developers or SMBs managing multiple workloads, that breathing room can delay upgrades and reduce friction as traffic increases.
Liquid Web includes 1GB RAM, 30GB SSD storage and 1TB bandwidth at entry level pricing. The pricing reflects its managed positioning, but the more conservative base resources may require earlier scaling as usage expands.
Verdict: Bluehost delivers stronger resource value at entry pricing, while Liquid Web aligns similar pricing with a more structured and managed resource model.
Bluehost includes unmetered bandwidth within its VPS plan. This structure reduces the need to constantly monitor traffic usage and provides flexibility during growth phases or short-term surges. It offers operational predictability when scaling traffic is part of the strategy.
Liquid Web includes 1TB of bandwidth on its 1GB Cloud VPS. For stable workloads, this allocation may be sufficient. However, projects with variable traffic must track consumption more carefully to avoid triggering scaling adjustments.
Verdict: Bluehost offers greater flexibility for fluctuating traffic, while Liquid Web maintains defined bandwidth thresholds within its managed structure.
Bluehost structures its VPS lineup to provide meaningful headroom from the start. With stronger base allocation, projects can scale gradually within the same ecosystem before requiring significant tier changes. This approach supports steady growth without constant resource evaluation.
Liquid Web follows a defined tier progression model. As workloads increase, customers typically move upward through structured plans. This framework provides clarity but may introduce earlier upgrade decisions for expanding projects.
Verdict: Bluehost allows more gradual growth within entry capacity, while Liquid Web organizes scalability through clearly defined tier transitions.
Bluehost VPS is self-managed and provides full root access. Users can install custom stacks, configure security layers, manage firewalls and tailor environments to precise requirements. For technically confident teams, this autonomy enables experimentation and optimization without provider constraints.
Liquid Web integrates managed oversight into its Cloud VPS environment. Infrastructure maintenance, updates and deeper system assistance are structured within its support framework. This reduces hands-on responsibility but also centralizes control within the provider ecosystem.
Verdict: Bluehost supports full operational autonomy, while Liquid Web emphasizes guided infrastructure management.
Bluehost provides infrastructure-level support while maintaining its self-managed framework. The hosting environment remains stable and monitored, but server administration responsibilities remain with the user.
Liquid Web is widely recognized for its 24/7/365 managed support model. Its assistance extends into performance tuning and infrastructure-level troubleshooting, making it appealing for teams without dedicated DevOps resources.
Verdict: Liquid Web delivers deeper managed assistance, whereas Bluehost caters to teams comfortable managing their own server operations.
Bluehost includes access to one-click applications such as Docker, Portainer, LAMP, LEMP and n8n. These tools simplify stack setup and reduce configuration time for developers and smaller teams. Faster provisioning can accelerate testing, iteration and launch cycles.
Liquid Web environments typically involve more manual configuration within the managed VPS structure. While robust and capable, the setup process may require more deliberate preparation before applications are fully deployed.
Verdict: Bluehost streamlines rapid deployment and experimentation, while Liquid Web maintains a more structured configuration process.

My representative was very patient and listen to my concerns and very helpful and solved all my questions?
Great company to work with and they help so much i couldn’t have done my page alone so they helped me make a great web page for my business.
Satisfied customer for almost 20 years
I was having SSL issues. My SSLs had expired for a few of my sites and I could not figure it out. I started chatting with BlueHost and Luckily got Rakesh G. He worked diligently on the back end to fix the issues and install the certs manually. He is an absolute rock star. Could not have gotten it done without him!!! 5 stars!
My representative on Chat was knowledgeable and helpful. I have several services with Bluehost and I am very happy with them. I recommend Bluehost for all your website and hosting needs.
Had website go off-line unexpectedly. 2 possible causes. AI helped identify one with immediate step to take, but live support agent via chat was able to quickly see the other issue AND get website functioning again. From a hosing standpoint, they have been solid support for us for many years now.
Offshore call centers can be difficult, but the call center agent I spoke had a good command of the English language. I needed to cancel my domain privacy protection at $15 annual up-charge. Very expensive and can be had for free elsewhere. Agent took care of it and was easy to understand through the accent.
Renewed my domain name and added protection. There were some issues with ID and payment method and all was resolved quickly and easily.
What a great support team. Love Bluehost. Awesome prices, and support team. Have used them for over 25 years plus.
I had a website configuration issue which was confusing to me and to the AI assistant, so I used the chat and my agent solved the problem in one call.
very impressive customer service 👍
My website was running with a very slow response time, so my Tech, Muhaimeen, worked his magic and found the issue, made some tweaks, and it began working much faster almost immediately, and he said it would speed up more within 24 hours. Great service!
Good, helpful, and friendly!
If I could leave 10 stars I would!! After spending more hours than I care tell you learning about adding a DMARC in our cPanel, in the end, I contacted your support team and they were able to add it in, maybe 5 minutes of support time total! I'm just too much of a novice. SO THANK YOU AGAIN for spectacular service. Now I can get back to the work of updating my wordpress website.
Representative Srinivasan was very knowledgeable and courteous
Rahul Kumar was extremely helpful and professional. He helped me recover a WordPress website that was very important for my client, guided me step by step, explained the situation clearly, and made sure I understood what to do with the backup and future migration. He was patient, kind, and very effective. Excellent support experience.
Very kind and went the extra mile to assist me when another issue came up.
I am a blind user of the Bluehost/Word press website hosting. I have ben having problems with my site and decided to use the live agent to see if I could work out what was wrong. The agen which I worked with was patient,. courteous and polite to ensure I felt comfortable working with with them. As a blind person many chat bots and live agents just want to rush through and get onto the next person. It was a pleasant change to have an agent who took the time to work with me. I definatly recomomned Bluehost live agent support. Oh yeah the issue was resolved :)
Tes and I had a productive conversation today, though it got off to a slow start due to some initial communication challenges. We worked through them quickly, which really showed what good listening is all about. The issue wasn’t that Tes speaks with an accent or that English isn’t her first language. She was doing her job well. The real challenge was the combination of speaking at a natural, quick pace during a technical support call with someone 10,000 miles away. As the customer, I would grasp the first few words of an explanation, but while I was still processing that information, she would continue to the next point. This made it difficult to keep up at first. Thankfully, I recognized the problem early on, and Tes was excellent at listening and adapting. We sorted everything out smoothly, and I ended the call as a very happy customer. Tes deserves high commendation for her patience, attentiveness, and problem-solving skills. If it were up to me, I would triple her salary, give her and her family an all-expenses-paid trip around the world for one year with oodles of spending money — starting with a base of one million U.S. dollars plus any extras that might be necessary. This is what great customer support looks like! Go Tes! Bottom line for tech support hubs throughout the world: Keep it simple by speaking in as few words as possible. This allows the person on the other end to properly work through any language or audio distortions. Sincerely, William Gfroehrer...
There were a couple hiccups getting my website online, and the support team was ALL OVER IT!! They immediately fixed the issue, and my website was up and running just FINE! BRAVO to the technical support team!
