Contributor Day at WordCamp Sylhet
The second day of WordCamp Sylhet was dedicated to Contributor Day, a highly anticipated event where WordPress enthusiasts come together and discover the art of contributing to the WordPress ecosystem. It was a day filled with excitement, learning, and collaborative spirit.
The atmosphere on Contributor Day was electric, with individuals collaborating, sharing ideas, and working together to improve the WordPress platform. The exchange of knowledge and the spirit of camaraderie were truly inspiring, fostering an environment where everyone felt encouraged and supported in their journey of becoming valuable contributors to the WordPress community.
“As the contributor’s day was spread across all domains be it technical or non-technical, I decided to contribute on a completely different domain (i.e., towards the Themes Section) as compared to my work, as themes are the future for WordPress. I gained knowledge about the various cutting edge theme patterns that are used and tried to develop a sample theme using them. I also looked and researched about the various areas in the site editor to find flaws and work towards a potential fix.” – Benny Allen, Software Engineer
“I learnt about themes and collaborated with a few folks on the same. While working on a problem, I got to know someone on my table was trying to setup ENV but faced challenges, so I worked with him on Docker.
We then got into discussing a few solutions around problems different people are facing around WordPress, Docker, and architecture and scale. It was such a great experience.”– Arnav Chaudhary, Engineering Manager
