GatorClaw: Service Scope, Responsibilities, and Usage Guidelines

This article explains how GatorClaw works, what Bluehost does and does not manage, and the responsibilities you assume when using this product.

1. Nature of the Service and Self-Hosted Environment ("As Is")

GatorClaw is an AI-based automation interface designed to run on a customer managed VPS under a self-hosting model.

Service Provided "As Is"

  • GatorClaw is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
  • Bluehost does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or specific outcomes when using the software.

Service Changes or Discontinuation

  • Bluehost reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue GatorClaw (in whole or in part) at any time.
  • Such changes may occur without prior notice and do not create any obligation for continued support, uptime, or compensation.

Customer Technical Responsibility

Because GatorClaw operates entirely on your private server:

  • You are responsible for server maintenance, operating system updates, application configuration, and environment security.
  • You are responsible for data integrity, backups, logs, and recovery.
  • Bluehost does not manage or monitor application-level behavior inside your VPS.

2. Responsibility for AI Actions and Skills (Automation & Autonomy)

GatorClaw can perform automated actions such as interacting with the file system, accessing web resources, and running installable “Skills” (plugins).

Validation of AI Actions

  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and monitoring all automated actions executed by the AI.
  • Bluehost is not responsible for:
    • File deletion or modification
    • Incorrect emails, messages, or API calls
    • System changes or misconfigurations caused by AI-generated commands.

Third-Party and Community Skills

  • Skills developed by third parties or the community are used at your own discretion and risk.
  • Bluehost does not verify, audit, or guarantee the security, reliability, or performance of third-party plugins.
  • Any costs, vulnerabilities, or issues arising from external skills are your responsibility.
  • Use of third-party skills is subject to the terms and policies of the skill provider.

3. External API Keys and Usage Costs (LLMs)

GatorClaw relies on integrations with third-party Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide intelligent automation.

Third-Party Billing Responsibility

  • Any usage charges associated with API keys (including but not limited to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or similar providers) are billed directly by those providers.
  • You are fully responsible for:
    • API key management
    • Token usage
    • Spending limits and billing controls
  • Bluehost does not track, limit, or manage consumption or costs incurred through external AI providers.

4. Compliance, Platform Rules, and Access Limitations

GatorClaw may be integrated with third-party platforms such as messaging services, productivity tools, or external APIs.

Compliance with Third-Party Terms

  • You must ensure that all automations comply with the Terms of Service, acceptable use policies, and rate limits of any external platform you connect to.
  • This includes (but is not limited to) platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Google Workspace.

Risk of Account Restrictions

  • Automated or excessive activity may violate third-party usage policies.
  • Bluehost is not responsible for:
    • Account suspension
    • Rate limiting
    • Permanent bans or access revocation
  • Any enforcement actions taken by third-party platforms are the responsibility of the customer.

Summary

GatorClaw is a powerful self-hosted automation tool that provides flexibility and control—but also requires active management. By using GatorClaw, you acknowledge responsibility for server maintenance, AI-generated actions, third-party integrations, and associated costs.

For best results, we recommend:

  • Testing automations in a controlled environment
  • Monitoring AI actions closely
  • Reviewing third-party platform policies regularly
  • Maintaining current backups of your VPS
