ecomdash - How to Build an Import/Export Inventory Format
Import Formats are used to designate how ecomdash interprets .csv files, while Export Formats determine how the .csv file will be written for exports. These files can then be used to create new products or update existing products. This article will explain how to add and configure Inventory Import/Export Formats.
Building an Import/Export Inventory Format
When importing or exporting, ecomdash will use a set of instructions (Inventory Import/Export Formats) to import and export products in bulk. These formats can be customized to match your specifications and will need to be set up before you can bulk import or export inventory.
- Click the 'Settings' (gear) icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Choose Bulk Import/Export from the drop-down that appears.
- This will take you to a page where you can choose between Manual Import Formats, Integrated Import Formats, Manual Export Formats, and Integrated Export Formats.
- Click the View button underneath the format you wish to create.
- Click the Add New button to create a new format.
- Configure your format, then click the Verify Format Matches File button.
- Once you have verified that everything matches, click the Save button.
Once you have added your Import/Export Format, you will be able to Import or Export your inventory via .csv file.
