How Often Does Bluehost Back Up My Site?
Bluehost's automatic backup service runs once a week on a random day, and each run overwrites any previous backups. Only one week of backups is kept at a time. Each hosting package has a different backup policy, as outlined in this article Jetpack Backup and Restore
Need to restore a backup? For backup restore requests, please contact our Support team via phone or chat for assistance. Please note that there's a one-time fee for Bluehost for this request.

Backups for Shared and Reseller hosting
Shared and Reseller backup limits
You may also find it helpful to check the graph on our Jetpack Backup and Restore page to know whether or not our weekly backups cover your cPanel. Reseller accounts can have multiple cPanels, and these limits will apply to each cPanel.
Shared hosting plans
For non-specialized Shared plans, Bluehost creates daily, weekly, and monthly backups based on cycles set within the server for accounts under 20 GB and 100,000 inodes. Please note that the weekly or monthly backup(s) could be the same as the daily backup, given the server cycles run.
For Managed WordPress, Cloud, and Reseller hosting plans, Bluehost creates weekly backups of shared servers for accounts under 20 GB and 100,000 inodes.
All or part of your cPanel can be restored by Bluehost. Please contact us via phone or chat so we can assist you.
If you have a Shared plan, you may want to take advantage of Jetpack or CodeGuard, Bluehost's automatic website backup solutions, to avoid worrying about making your backups. To learn more about these services, please read the following articles:
Reseller hosting plans
Each cPanel in a Reseller account is scheduled to be backed up weekly. Please contact us via phone or chat to check the date of our latest backup.
Backups for KVM VPS hosting
For KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine), you are responsible for your own backups as Bluehost courtesy backups are no longer maintained by Bluehost.
You can set up backups in WHM and each cPanel. For more information, please check cPanel's documentation:
Backups for Dedicated hosting
Linux Dedicated hosting plans
By default, new servers are set up with RAID1 (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) Storage, which mirrors data on two hard drives; however, this is not a backup solution. Although Bluehost does not make backups of Dedicated Servers, the servers leverage the backup system built into cPanel.
For more information, please check cPanel's documentation:
Windows Dedicated hosting plans
By default, Windows Dedicated hosting plans running Windows 2012 or higher are set up with an automatic Windows image backup to the secondary drive. Please note that older servers may not have this capability, but new servers will be set up this way.
For information regarding configuring and managing a Windows server backup schedule and how a single full server backup may be created, please visit the article, How to Create a Manual Backup.
