How to Renew Your Domain

Domain registrations are set to auto-renew by default, meaning we'll attempt to renew it on your behalf 15-days prior to the expiration date using the payment method on your account. If the renewal is successful, we'll email you a copy of the receipt. If it's unsuccessful, we'll email you a reminder to manually renew your domain prior to the expiration date.

Steps to Renew Your Domain

Follow the steps below to renew your domain manually:

Note: Legacy accounts will feature a horizontal navigation bar at the top of the screen, while Bluerock account users will see a vertical navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen.   1. Log in to your Bluehost control panel.
  2. Click the Domains tab from the side navigation menu to the left.
  3. Next to the domain name you wish to update, click the ▼ icon next to Manage, then choose Renewal from the drop-down menu that appears.
  4. Select the Renew button underneath the domain renewal date.
    This will take you to the Shopping Cart to process your payment.


  1. Log in to your Bluehost control panel.
  2. Click the Domains tab from the navigation menu that stretches across the top of your screen.
  3. Scroll down to the domains list, and select the domains you would like to renew.
  4. Select the Renewal Options tab to the right.
  5. Select the Renew Now and click the Save changes button.
    This will take you to the Shopping Cart to confirm your choices and process your payment.

Domain renewal payments are permanent once the payment is processed, and the domain will belong to you for the full term. Domains cannot be canceled mid-term for any reason.

Should you choose to allow your domain to expire, the domain will be deactivated on the expiration date. It will be set to Bluehost parking name servers, meaning your domain will no longer resolve to your content, and you will no longer receive emails at that domain. You have up to 30 days to renew your domain registration before it enters the redemption holding period.  For more information about Domains, please refer to the knowledgeable article, Domain Name FAQ.
