What’s new with Bluehost data center locations?

We’re giving you more choice over where your Managed VPS or Dedicated Hosting infrastructure runs.

When you make a new purchase, you can review the available data center locations and select your preferred region during checkout. Your choice determines where we provision your new server. Once provisioning is complete, you can also view the selected data center in Account Manager.

This gives you more regional flexibility, especially when your users or workloads are concentrated in a specific part of the world.

Important: Region selection is available on new signups and new server purchases. It does not apply to servers that are already active.

How do you choose your Bluehost data center?

You select your preferred location when purchasing a new Managed VPS or Dedicated Hosting server.

During checkout, we’ll show you the available locations so you can choose the one that best fits your audience and workload. You can review your choice before completing your purchase, and we’ll provision your server in the selected data center.

After provisioning, you can view the active location alongside your server details in Account Manager.

Because you choose the location before deployment, consider where most of your users and applications are based.

Why does your VPS or Dedicated Hosting location matter?

Your VPS data center or Dedicated Hosting data center determines the geographic region where your infrastructure runs.

When your server is closer to your users, the network distance between them can be shorter. This can help reduce latency and may support faster response times.

Choosing the right VPS location or Dedicated Hosting location can help you:

  • Reduce network distance: A nearby location can shorten the path between your users and server.
  • Support response times: Reduced network distance may help requests reach your applications more quickly.
  • Plan regionally: You can align infrastructure with important customer markets.
  • Support expansion: More locations give you additional choices as your business reaches new markets.
  • Place workloads strategically: You can select a region that better matches a particular application or audience.

Actual performance can also depend on routing, caching, application configuration and your users’ locations.

Our expanded network is designed to give you more regional flexibility and more control over where your hosting infrastructure runs.

Which Bluehost data center location should you choose?

The right server location depends on your users, applications and workload.

If most of your customers are in the United Kingdom, you may consider London. For Central European audiences, Frankfurt or Amsterdam may be suitable. Singapore may better align with Southeast Asian users, while Mumbai can be a suitable option for users in India and nearby regions. Sydney can support Australian audiences.

If your users are mainly in North America, you can choose between Ashburn, Phoenix and Toronto based on your requirements.

Whether you’re selecting a VPS server location or Dedicated Hosting location, proximity to your audience can be one useful factor in your infrastructure planning.

What should you know before selecting your data center?

Before choosing a location, keep these points in mind:

  • Available for new purchases: Our expanded selection applies to new Managed VPS and Dedicated Hosting purchases.
  • Choose during checkout: You select your preferred location before completing your purchase.
  • Provisioned where you choose: We provision your server in the data center you select.
  • Visible in Account Manager: You can see your active data center after provisioning.
  • No current location change after deployment: Your selected data center is read-only after provisioning. There is no in-panel option to move a server to a different location.
  • Consistent pricing across locations: At launch, your selected data center does not change the product pricing.

The takeaway: Pick your region at checkout, confirm it in Account Manager, and plan on staying there. Pricing is identical across locations, so choose the one closest to your visitors and let proximity do the work.
