I am excited to announce that Bluehost has backed the WP-CLI project, and we look forward to participating in its continued success. Up until this point, developer Daniel Bachhuber has maintained WP-CLI as a side project. With this sponsorship, he and others will be able to devote more efforts to improve the open-source infrastructure.
What is WP-CLI?
WP-CLI is the command-line interface for interacting with WordPress. As a hosting company, we find the software incredibly valuable for installing, updating, and managing most tasks related to the WordPress customer experience.
Why It Matters
Matt Mullenweg, the co-founder of WordPress, said:
” WP-CLI is key for almost everyone running WordPress at serious scale. Bluehost’s support will enable WP-CLI to get additional attention and investment to continue to help WordPress to be easy to deploy and manage, whether you have one site or millions. “
This time last year, Bluehost leveraged WP-CLI to update more than 2.5 million WordPress websites to the latest version.
