Guide to WHMCS Addons and Features

WHMCS addons allow you to expand the features available in your WHMCS installation. The default WHMCS installation available through Softaculous includes core tools for client management, billing, and support, but addons can provide additional functionality based on your business needs.

Bluehost does not sell or support WHMCS addons directly. If you need an addon, you must purchase or manage it through WHMCS or from your WHMCS administration panel.

What Are WHMCS Addons?

WHMCS addons are optional tools or extensions that add features to your WHMCS system. These addons can help with tasks such as branding, mobile management, project tracking, software licensing, live chat, and custom package options.

Some WHMCS addons may appear only after you log in to your WHMCS Admin Dashboard. This is because certain addons may depend on your WHMCS license type or account eligibility.

Where to Purchase WHMCS Addons

WHMCS addons must be purchased directly from WHMCS or through your WHMCS Admin Dashboard. Bluehost does not sell WHMCS addons and does not provide direct support for addon setup, billing, compatibility, or feature availability.

To review available addons:

  1. Log in to your WHMCS Admin Dashboard.
  2. Check the available addon or marketplace options.
  3. Review the addon description, pricing, and requirements.
  4. Confirm that the addon is compatible with your WHMCS license.
  5. Purchase or activate the addon through WHMCS.

Addon pricing, availability, and requirements may vary, so always review the details before purchasing.

Examples of WHMCS Addons

Below are examples of addons that may be available through WHMCS.

Branding Removal

WHMCS is branded by default with a “Powered by WHMCS” line in the client area. Branding Removal allows you to remove this WHMCS branding. Depending on the WHMCS package, branding removal may require a qualifying license tier or addon purchase.

Mobile Apps

WHMCS mobile apps allow you to manage parts of your business from Android or iPhone devices. This can be helpful if you need to review client activity, orders, billing, or support items while away from your main workstation.

Project Management

The Project Management addon helps you track projects, tasks, and time inside WHMCS. This may be useful for agencies, developers, or service providers who manage client work in addition to hosting services.

Customizable Package Addon

The Customizable Package Addon allows customers to choose preferred settings from a hosting package and have those selections provisioned on the server. This can be useful if you offer hosting packages with adjustable features or configurable options.

Licensing Addon

The Licensing Addon is designed for businesses that need to issue and manage software licenses. This may be helpful if you sell software, scripts, plugins, or other licensed digital products.

Live Chat Addon

The Live Chat Addon adds live chat and visitor monitoring tools to WHMCS. This can help your team respond to customer questions directly from your WHMCS-powered support environment.

Important Notes About WHMCS Addons

Before purchasing or enabling WHMCS addons, keep the following in mind:

  • Bluehost does not sell WHMCS addons.
  • Bluehost does not provide direct support for WHMCS addon setup or troubleshooting.
  • Addons are purchased and managed through WHMCS.
  • Some addons may only appear inside your WHMCS Admin Dashboard.
  • Addon availability may depend on your WHMCS license.
  • Pricing and specifications are managed by WHMCS.
  • Review compatibility before adding any extension to a live WHMCS installation.

WHMCS License Reminder

Bluehost no longer offers a free WHMCS license. To use WHMCS, you will need to purchase a license directly from WHMCS before installing or managing addons.

Before purchasing addons, make sure your WHMCS license is active and your installation is working properly. If your WHMCS license is not active, some addon options may not be available.

When Should You Use WHMCS Addons?

You may want to use WHMCS addons if your business needs more than the default WHMCS features.

Consider using addons if you need to:

  • Remove WHMCS branding from the client area.
  • Manage WHMCS from a mobile device.
  • Track client projects and tasks.
  • Offer customizable hosting packages.
  • Sell software that requires licensing.
  • Add live chat or visitor monitoring.
  • Expand WHMCS beyond billing and support.

Summary

WHMCS addons help extend your WHMCS installation with additional tools for branding, mobile access, project management, package customization, software licensing, and live chat. The default WHMCS installation includes client management, billing, and support tools, while addons can help customize WHMCS for your business needs.

Bluehost does not sell or support WHMCS addons directly. To purchase, review, or manage addons, log in to WHMCS or your WHMCS Admin Dashboard. Make sure your WHMCS license is active and confirm addon compatibility before adding new features to your installation.
