Our Shared hosting services come with a 99.99% uptime guarantee, measured based on uptime reported by the operating system and Apache Web Server. This may differ from the uptime reported by individual services.
Uptime Guarantee Details
- If your Shared hosting server experiences physical downtime below the 99.99% uptime threshold, you may be eligible for a credit coupon.
- The credit coupon is limited to one per month and provides a maximum of 5% of your monthly hosting fee for that month, regardless of the number of downtime events.
- This credit is an exclusive remedy for any downtime of Shared hosting services.
Exclusions
The uptime guarantee does NOT cover service interruptions caused by:
- Scheduled maintenance or repairs.
- Issues due to custom scripting, coding, or third-party application installations you performed.
- Outages affecting only non-website access services such as account manager, FTP, or email.
- Your breach of the hosting agreement.
- Causes beyond our control or unforeseeable events (e.g., DDoS attacks).
- Reliability issues with certain programming environments.
- Internet connectivity problems are caused by your ISP.
- Browser caching or DNS issues.
- Interference caused by third parties.
How to Request a Coupon
- Contact customer service within 30 days after the downtime ends, either by calling 1-888-401-4678 or using LiveChat.
- Provide justification for the downtime; third-party monitoring reports are not accepted.
- Failure to request within 30 days forfeits your right to the coupon.
- Coupon approval is at Bluehost’s sole discretion.
- The uptime guarantee applies only to Shared hosting services purchased on or after March 5, 2025.
- Reseller, VPS, and Dedicated hosting services are excluded from this uptime guarantee.
