How to Set Up Currencies in WHMCS
Managing multiple currencies in WHMCS allows you to offer accurate pricing to customers around the world. By configuring currencies correctly, you can ensure proper conversions, consistent product pricing, and a smoother checkout experience.
Getting Started
To manage currencies in WHMCS:
- Log in to your WHMCS Admin Dashboard.
- Click Setup from the top navigation menu.
- Hover over Payments, then select Currencies.
On the Currencies page, you’ll see:
- A list of all currently configured currencies
- Options to add a new currency or edit existing ones
Adding a New Currency in WHMCS
To add a new currency, follow these steps:
- Click Add New Currency on the Currencies page.
- Complete the following fields:

Currency Code
The official ISO currency code (e.g.,USD,GBP,EUR). -
Prefix
The symbol or text displayed before the price (e.g.,$,£,€). -
Suffix
Text displayed after the price (commonly the currency code, such asUSD). This field can also be left blank. -
Format
Determines how prices appear (decimal and thousand separators). -
Base Conversion Rate
The amount this currency must be divided by to convert it to your base currency.

- Click Add Currency to save.
Your new currency will now appear in the currencies list.
Editing an Existing Currency
If you need to update a currency (such as adjusting the exchange rate):
- Locate the currency from the Currencies list.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- Update the desired values (most commonly the Base Conversion Rate).
- Check the Update Pricing option to reflect the new rate across products.
- Click Save Changes.
Automatically Updating Exchange Rates
WHMCS allows you to automatically update exchange rates using data from the European Central Bank.
To do this:
- Click the Update Exchange Rates button below the currency list.
- Once updated, select Update Product Prices to apply the new rates to your services.
This ensures your pricing stays accurate as currency values change.
