Bandwidth is "Unmetered" which means you are not charged according to the amount of bandwidth you typically use in the normal operation of a personal or small business website.
However, we do require all customers to be fully compliant with our Terms of Service and to not exceed 25% or more of system resources for longer than 90 seconds.
What happens if I exceed usage?
If we have concerns about your account's bandwidth utilization, you will receive an email asking you to reduce usage.
It is rare for a customer who is managing a personal or small business website to exceed our usage policies.

Do I need an existing Bluehost account?

Which AI tools can I use with Bluehost MCP?
Bluehost MCP is designed to work with compatible AI clients that support MCP. The current experience supports clients such as Claude Code & Claude Desktop. Availability may vary as the supported tool list evolves.
Why do I still need a browser?
Account creation, payment setup and required legal consent happen in the browser for security and compliance. Once those steps are complete, you can return to your AI tool to continue the VPS workflow.

Does my AI assistant purchase things automatically and is my payment info shared with it?
Your AI assistant can initiate a VPS or domain purchase after you select and confirm the details- it doesn't buy anything without your say-so. Payment setup itself happens in a secure browser session and your AI tool never sees or handles your card details.
How does my AI assistant publish my application?
Publishing happens over SSH, not through MCP. Once your VPS is provisioned, your AI agent can connect using SSH to prepare the server, upload your application, configure the runtime and verify the application.
Can I manage my VPS through AI after it's provisioned?
Not through Bluehost MCP today. It focuses on purchasing and provisioning your VPS and registering your domain, with application publishing handled separately over SSH. Server management, including resizing, rebooting, destroying or snapshotting isn't supported through MCP.
Can I buy a domain without buying hosting through Bluehost MCP?
Yes. You can search for and register a domain through Bluehost MCP without buying a VPS. Domain registration is a standalone purchase.
Does Bluehost MCP point my domain at my server automatically? (new)
No. Pointing a domain at your VPS is optional and only offered if your account already has a server. Your AI assistant will ask and DNS records are only written once you confirm - declining is completely normal, not something that needs fixing later.
What happens after my domain is registered?
You'll get confirmation with the expiry date and privacy setting and you'll need to verify the registrant email within 15 days- if that verification doesn't happen, the domain gets suspended, so it's worth doing right away.

No. Bluehost MCP is a new way to access and provision Bluehost VPS infrastructure through your AI workflow. The underlying VPS infrastructure and hosting experience remain the same.
