If you've gone looking for AI apps like Claude Code, OpenClaw, or Open WebUI on your Bluehost account and couldn't find them, it's not a bug, it's a hosting type issue. Regular (Shared) Hosting
Regular hosting, often called shared hosting, is what most websites run on. Your site shares physical server hardware with other customers' websites, and Bluehost manages the server environment for you behind the scenes.

Which One Do You Need?
For most customers, a Self-Managed VPS is the right place to start, and it can take you a long way. Its plans range from small, personal-project sizes up through tiers built for heavy AI workloads and enterprise-level stacks, and it can also be customized to fit a specific workload rather than sticking to a preset size.
A VDS is worth considering once your needs go beyond what even the largest Self-Managed VPS plan offers, or when dedicated, non-shared performance is critical, for example, a production AI system that can't afford any slowdown from other customers on the same hardware. VDS plans also start with more RAM available per CPU core, and scale well beyond what VPS offers.
Regular (shared) hosting isn't an option for AI apps at all, so if that's what you currently have, you'll need to move to one of these two before you can install any AI tools.
