Assign Dedicated IPs to Reseller Hosting Customers

Important: In November 2014, Bluehost announced it would no longer accept new shared Reseller hosting signups. Bluehost announced a partnership with ResellerClub as the hosting partner of choice for Reseller hosting.

You can assign a dedicated IP to your reseller hosting customers using the Dedicated IP Manager in WHM or cPanel. Visit the article Understanding Dedicated IP vs. Shared IP to answer the following questions:

How to Assign a Dedicated IP Address

To assign a dedicated IP address to a customer in WHM for reseller hosting, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your cPanel account. For step-by-step instructions on accessing cPanel from WHM, check out Resellers: Where to Log in to Your Account.
  2. Under the Reseller section or tab in cPanel, click on Dedicated IP Manager.
    • If you have any available Dedicated IP addresses available, you can assign them here based on the username of your customer's account.
Note: Once assigned, there is a propagation time for the IP address, which relates to the time needed for these updates to show across the web. The standard propagation time for changing an IP address is 6 to 8 hours, and the website can go down.
