While working for Georgetown County Public Services, Janet noticed a disconnect between different areas of Georgetown County. She believed that storytelling could help bridge those divides by giving people an opportunity to listen to one another’s experiences.

Inspired by Baltimore’s Stoop Storytelling program, Janet founded Georgetown Tidal Tales, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the local community through live storytelling events while giving proceeds back to accredited Georgetown nonprofits.
