Bluehost: Outlook Malfunctioning Error & Tips
The suggestions below can apply to Outlook and potentially other third-party email software tools such as Thunderbird.
Message Stuck
If you have an email message(s) that become stuck in the Outbox, please go to File and choose Work Offline. Close Outlook or third-party email tool, and reopen it. Now you can delete the email. This happens usually to emails with attachments. Or, it may be time to install a new Outlook.
Not Downloading All Messages
If Outlook or other third-party email tools you are using are not downloading all of your messages, and the quota is good. You may have other mail programs (like Blackberry, mobile POP/IMAP third-party app) downloading the emails and thereby removing the copies.
Downloading Multiple Copies of Messages
If Outlook or third-party email tool is downloading multiple copies of your messages, then most likely your Outlook program is broken. Try downloading a new copy to install, or there may be a patch provided by Microsoft.
Stuck Downloading a Message
If Outlook or third-party email tool is trying to download a message but gets stuck, then the message is likely too large or has a large attachment. Try to delete the problematic message from Webmail and try again.
DBX File Corruption
If you are using Outlook or third-party email tool and trying to download email, and it's downloading, but erroring out while download with no error, your dbx file might be bad. Outlook Expresses dbx file corrupts after hitting 2GB. You will need to rename the file (Outlook example, inbox.dbx to oldinbox.dbx), and restart Outlook. This typically affects Outlook Express Only.
