You can read and send your Bluehost Professional Email from any Android phone or tablet by adding it to Gmail, Samsung Email, Outlook, or another Android mail app using IMAP. Once it's set up, your business inbox sits right alongside your other email accounts.
This guide covers the setup steps in Gmail, the server settings you'll need for any mail app, and fixes for the most common setup problems.
Tip: Prefer to skip manual server settings? Download the Professional Email mobile app from Google Play, and then sign in with your email address and password, plus your 2FA code if you've turned on two-factor authentication.
Before You Begin
Gather the following before you start so the setup goes smoothly.
- An active Professional Email mailbox. You need one before you can add it to your Android device:
- How to Set Up Bluehost Professional Email: Create your mailbox if you haven't set one up yet.
- Bluehost Professional Email Plans Comparison: Compare plans, features, and pricing to find the right fit.
- Your full email address and mailbox password. For example,
[email protected]. Passwords are case-sensitive. - An Android phone or tablet with a mail app, such as Gmail, and a working internet connection.
- Third-party app access turned on. See How to Enable Bluehost Professional Email on Other Apps.
Add Professional Email to Gmail or Another Android Mail App
Use these steps to add your mailbox to Gmail, which comes preinstalled on most Android devices. Samsung Email, Outlook, and other apps ask for the same details, though their screens and button names vary.
Note: These steps reflect the current version of Gmail for Android. Menu names and screens may differ slightly depending on your app version.
Important: Third-party app access must be turned on for your mailbox before you start, or the app won't be able to connect. Follow How to Enable Bluehost Professional Email on Other Apps first.
- Open the Gmail app.
- Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner, and then tap Add another account.
- Select Other.
- Enter your full Professional Email address, and then tap Manual setup.
- Choose Personal (IMAP), and then tap Next.
- Enter your Professional Email password, and then tap Next. If you've turned on two-factor authentication, enter your application password instead.
- On the Incoming server settings screen, enter:
- Username: Your full Professional Email address.
- Server:
imap.titan.email - Port:
993 - Security type: SSL/TLS
- Tap Next.
- On the Outgoing server settings screen, enter:
- Require sign-in: Turned on.
- Username: Your full Professional Email address.
- SMTP server:
smtp.titan.email - Port:
465 - Security type: SSL/TLS
- Tap Next, choose your sync and notification preferences, and then tap Next again.
- Give the account a name (for example, Work), enter the name you want recipients to see, and then tap Next.
Success: Your Professional Email account appears in Gmail. New messages usually start arriving within a few minutes.
Tip: If your app has trouble sending email on port 465, try port 587 with STARTTLS as the security type.
Professional Email Server Settings
Use these values in any Android mail app. For every connection, the username is your full Professional Email address and the password is your mailbox password. If you've turned on two-factor authentication, use an application password instead of your mailbox password. Bluehost Professional Email: How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) explains how to create one.
| Connection | Server | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incoming (IMAP), recommended | imap.titan.email |
993 | SSL/TLS |
| Incoming (POP), alternative | pop.titan.email |
995 | SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing (SMTP) | smtp.titan.email |
465 | SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing (SMTP), alternate | smtp.titan.email |
587 | STARTTLS |
Important: IMAP keeps your email in sync across your phone, computer, and webmail. POP downloads messages to a single device and doesn't keep your other devices in sync, so choose POP only if you check email on one device. Troubleshooting
If something doesn't work as expected, find the issue below and follow the fix.
"Incorrect Email or Password" Message
This message appears when the email address or password you entered doesn't match your mailbox, usually because of a typo, an outdated saved password, or a recent password change.
Fix: Type your full Professional Email address and password manually instead of using autofill, and make sure Caps Lock is off, since passwords are case-sensitive. If you've turned on two-factor authentication, use an application password instead of your regular password. See Bluehost Professional Email: How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). If you still can't sign in, reset your mailbox password from your Bluehost Portal, and then sign in again with the new password.
Gmail or Another App Can't Connect at All
Third-party mail apps can't reach your mailbox until third-party app access is turned on.
Fix: Log in to Professional Email webmail, click the gear icon, and turn on access for other apps. See How to Enable Bluehost Professional Email on Other Apps for the full steps. Then remove the account from your mail app and add it again.
You Can't Receive Email
This usually means the incoming server, port, or security type was entered incorrectly.
Fix: Open your mail app's account settings and go to the incoming server settings. Confirm the server is imap.titan.email, the port is 993, the security type is SSL/TLS, and the username is your full Professional Email address. Save your changes and refresh your inbox.
You Can Receive Email but Can't Send It
This usually means the outgoing (SMTP) settings don't match or sign-in isn't turned on for outgoing mail.
Fix: Open your mail app's outgoing server settings. Confirm the server is smtp.titan.email, the port is 465, the security type is SSL/TLS, and sign-in is required using your full Professional Email address and password. If sending still fails, change the port to 587 and the security type to STARTTLS.
Notifications Arrive Late or Not at All
Android's battery optimization can stop mail apps from checking for new messages in the background.
Fix: Go to Settings > Apps, select your mail app, open Battery, and set it to Unrestricted (or turn off battery optimization). While you're there, make sure notifications are allowed for the app. Menu names may vary slightly by device.
Tip: You can always check your mail in Professional Email webmail while you troubleshoot your phone.
Summary
You can set up Bluehost Professional Email on Android by adding it to Gmail, Samsung Email, Outlook, or another mail app using IMAP. Before you start, turn on third-party app access for your mailbox so the app can connect. Then enter the IMAP and SMTP settings above, and your Professional Email will sync with your Android device.
